Concerts begin at 8 pm, and are preceded by a cocktail hour at 7 pm, where audiences can enjoy complimentary refreshments and a cash bar.
Chris Koza is a songwriter/musician living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where the climate, the mighty Mississippi River, and the balance of both city and rural communities offer continued inspiration. Koza began performing, producing, and releasing his own music in 2004 with his first solo album Exit Pesce, followed by 2006’s Patterns and A Friend of a Friend. Since then, under his own name and with his band Rogue Valley, Koza has released over a dozen albums, firmly rooted in Americana music, with influences drawing from folk, acoustic, classic rock, experimental electronic-pop and traditional singer-songwriter.
Currently, Koza is recording new music in Northeast Minneapolis, at Wild Sound and Little Radios, with plans to release later in 2018 or early 2019. In addition to performing eponymously and with Rogue Valley, Koza is also a regular performer in The New Standards’ holiday and ensemble shows, most recently at Orchestra Hall taking on the likes of Harry Nilsson’s classic Everybody’s Talkin’. Koza also collaborates with Lucy Michelle’s solo project and her band Little Fevers.
Opening act: Annie Fitzgerald - Hailed by the Songwriters Hall of Fame as an artist to watch, singer-songwriter Annie Fitzgerald released her second album You & Me & the Sun on June 1st, 2018. Produced by Danny O’Brien (The Farewell Circuit, Dem Yuut), the album finds Fitzgerald joining gifted musicians and shaping an intricately textured pop sound touched with the raw vitality of rock-and-roll. A return to her home state of Minnesota after 10 years in NYC imbued a groundedness and gave more wide open space to create, infusing the album with unfettered honesty, emotional depth and a palpable joy. You & Me & the Sun explores connection, vulnerability, love, and sparks in the span of time while navigating the balance between motherhood and her life as a songwriter.
